حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لأَيُّوبَهَلْ تَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا قَالَ بِقَوْلِ الْحَسَنِ فِي أَمْرُكِ بِيَدِكِ ‏.‏ قَالَ لاَ إِلاَّ شَىْءٌ حَدَّثَنَاهُ قَتَادَةُ عَنْ كَثِيرٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ سَمُرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِنَحْوِهِقَالَ أَيُّوبُ فَقَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا كَثِيرٌ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ مَا حَدَّثْتُ بِهَذَا قَطُّ فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِقَتَادَةَ فَقَالَ بَلَى وَلَكِنَّهُ نَسِيَ ‏.‏

Hammad ibn Zayd said

Hammad ibn Zayd said: I asked Ayyub: "Do you know anyone who holds the view of Al-Hasan regarding the statement: 'Your matter is in your hand'?" He replied: "No, except for something narrated to us by Qatadah from Kathir, the freed slave of Ibn Samurah, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, peace be upon him, similar to it." Ayyub said: "Kathir came to us, so I asked him, and he said: 'I never narrated this.' I mentioned that to Qatadah, and he said: 'Yes, but he forgot.'"
