Sunan Abi Dawud 2204
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لأَيُّوبَ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا قَالَ بِقَوْلِ الْحَسَنِ فِي أَمْرُكِ بِيَدِكِ . قَالَ لاَ إِلاَّ شَىْءٌ حَدَّثَنَاهُ قَتَادَةُ عَنْ كَثِيرٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ سَمُرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِنَحْوِهِ قَالَ أَيُّوبُ فَقَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا كَثِيرٌ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ مَا حَدَّثْتُ بِهَذَا قَطُّ فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِقَتَادَةَ فَقَالَ بَلَى وَلَكِنَّهُ نَسِيَ .
Hammad ibn Zayd said: I asked Ayyub whether he knew anyone who transmitted al-Hasan view about a husband saying to his wife, Your matter is in your hands. Ayyub replied: No, except for something like it that Qatadah transmitted from Kathir, client of Ibn Samurah, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ. Ayyub said Kathir later came to us, and I asked him about it. He said he had never transmitted such a report. I told Qatadah, who replied: Yes, he did, but he forgot.
