حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، أَنَّ جَمِيلَةَ، كَانَتْ تَحْتَ أَوْسِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ وَكَانَ رَجُلاً بِهِ لَمَمٌ فَكَانَ إِذَااشْتَدَّ لَمَمُهُ ظَاهَرَ مِنَ امْرَأَتِهِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى فِيهِ كَفَّارَةَ الظِّهَارِ ‏.‏

Narrated Hisham b. 'Urwah

Jamila was the wife of Aws ibn al-Samit, and he was a man who suffered from a touch of derangement. When his derangement intensified, he would make his wife unlawful for himself by zihar (comparing her to his mother's back), whereupon Allah, the Exalted, revealed concerning him the expiation for zihar.
