Sunan Abi Dawud 2235
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ كَثِيرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ زَوْجَ، بَرِيرَةَ كَانَ حُرًّا حِينَ أُعْتِقَتْ وَأَنَّهَا خُيِّرَتْ فَقَالَتْ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَكُونَ مَعَهُ وَإِنَّ لِي كَذَا وَكَذَا .
Translation
ʿAishah said: Barirah husband was a free man when she was emancipated, and she was given the choice. She said: I do not wish to remain with him, even if I were given such and such.
