Those Who Said That Lots Should Be Drawn If They Differ About The Child
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ، سَمِعَ الشَّعْبِيَّ، عَنِ الْخَلِيلِ، أَوِ ابْنِ الْخَلِيلِ قَالَ أُتِيَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ - رضى الله عنه - فِي امْرَأَةٍ وَلَدَتْ مِنْ ثَلاَثٍ نَحْوَهُ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ الْيَمَنَ وَلاَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَلاَ قَوْلَهُ طِيبَا بِالْوَلَدِ .
Translation
Al-Khalil, or Ibn al-Khalil, said: 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) was brought a woman who gave birth to a child from three men.' He mentioned something similar, but did not mention Yemen, nor the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), nor his saying: 'Voluntarily give the child to whichever of them you wish.'
