Sunan Abi Dawud 3167
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، قَالَتْ نُهِينَا أَنْ نَتَّبِعَ، الْجَنَائِزَ وَلَمْ يُعْزَمْ عَلَيْنَا .
Translation
Umm ‘Atiyyah said, 'We were forbidden to follow funeral processions, but the prohibition was not made binding on us.'
