Al-Mughirah ibn Shu‘bah reported that the Prophet ﷺ said, ‘A rider should travel behind the funeral, while those on foot may walk behind it, ahead of it, or to its right or left, staying close to it. Funeral prayer should be offered for a miscarried child, and forgiveness and mercy should be sought for its parents.’
