Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ مَرُّوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِجَنَازَةٍ فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا خَيْرًا فَقَالَ " وَجَبَتْ " . ثُمَّ مَرُّوا بِأُخْرَى فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا شَرًّا فَقَالَ " وَجَبَتْ " . ثُمَّ قَالَ " إِنَّ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ شُهَدَاءُ " .
Translation
Abu Hurayrah reported that two funeral processions passed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The people praised the first deceased, and he said, ‘It is assured.’ They spoke ill of the second, and he said, ‘It is assured.’ Then he said, ‘Some of you are witnesses for others.’
