حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ وَمَعْنَاهُ قَالَ ‏"‏ الثَّيِّبُ أَحَقُّ بِنَفْسِهَا مِنْ وَلِيِّهَا وَالْبِكْرُ يَسْتَأْمِرُهَا أَبُوهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ ‏"‏ أَبُوهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ لَيْسَ بِمَحْفُوظٍ
Translation

The previously mentioned report has been transmitted by Abdullah ibn al-Fadl with his chain of transmission and similar meaning, stating: "A previously-married woman has more right to herself than her guardian, and a virgin's father seeks her permission." Abu Dawud said: "'Her father' is not well-preserved."
