Sunan Abi Dawud 4701

Musaddad narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us. (A second chain:) Ahmad ibn Salih narrated to us—the meaning is the same—and said: Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from ‘Amr ibn Dinar, who heard Tawus say: I heard Abu Hurayrah report from the Prophet (ﷺ), who said: ‘Adam and Moses argued. Moses said, “Adam, you are our father; you disappointed us and brought us out of Paradise.” Adam said, “Moses, Allah chose you through His speech and wrote the Torah for you with His own hand. Do you blame me for something Allah decreed for me forty years before He created me?” Thus Adam prevailed over Moses in argument.’ Ahmad ibn Salih said: From ‘Amr, from Tawus, who heard Abu Hurayrah.
