Sunan Abi Dawud 4705
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ رَقَبَةَ بْنِ مَصْقَلَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ أُبَىِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " الْغُلاَمُ الَّذِي قَتَلَهُ الْخَضِرُ طُبِعَ كَافِرًا وَلَوْ عَاشَ لأَرْهَقَ أَبَوَيْهِ طُغْيَانًا وَكُفْرًا " .
Translation
Al-Qa‘nabi narrated to us: al-Mu‘tamir narrated to us, from his father, from Raqabah ibn Masqalah, from Abu Ishaq, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas, from Ubayy ibn Ka‘b, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘The boy whom al-Khidr killed was marked as a disbeliever; had he lived, he would have driven his parents into rebellion and disbelief.’
