Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أُبَىُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ فِي قَوْلِهِ { وَأَمَّا الْغُلاَمُ فَكَانَ أَبَوَاهُ مُؤْمِنَيْنِ } " وَكَانَ طُبِعَ يَوْمَ طُبِعَ كَافِرًا " .
Translation
Mahmud ibn Khalid narrated to us: al-Firyabi narrated to us, from Isra’il. Abu Ishaq narrated to us, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: Ubayy ibn Ka‘b narrated to us: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) explain the words, ‘As for the boy, his parents were believers,’ saying, ‘He was marked as a disbeliever on the day he was marked.’
