Sunan Abi Dawud 4762
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عَلاَقَةَ، عَنْ عَرْفَجَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ : " سَتَكُونُ فِي أُمَّتِي هَنَاتٌ وَهَنَاتٌ وَهَنَاتٌ، فَمَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُفَرِّقَ أَمْرَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَهُمْ جَمِيعٌ فَاضْرِبُوهُ بِالسَّيْفِ كَائِنًا مَنْ كَانَ " .
Translation
Musaddad narrated to us: Yahya narrated to us, from Shu‘bah, from Ziyad ibn ‘Ilaqah, from ‘Arfajah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘There will be repeated turmoil in my community. Whoever seeks to divide the Muslims while they are united, strike him with the sword, whoever he may be.’
