Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Hanbal and Abdullah ibn Muhammad al-Nufayli narrated to us; they both said: Sufyan narrated to us, from Abu al-Nadr, from Ubaydullah ibn Abi Rafi, from his father, from the Prophet (ﷺ), who said: ‘Let me not find any of you reclining on his couch when a command of mine—something I have commanded or forbidden—comes to him, and he says: “We do not know; we follow only what we find in the Book of Allah.”’
