Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، قَدْ سَمَّاهُ غَيْرِ ابْنِ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ الصِّيدِ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ { وَحِيلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ مَا يَشْتَهُونَ } قَالَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ الإِيمَانِ .
Translation
Muhammad ibn Kathir narrated to us; Sufyan informed us, from a man—someone other than Ibn Kathir named him—through Sufyan, from Ubayd al-Sayd, from al-Hasan, concerning the words of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, ‘A barrier was placed between them and what they desire.’ He said, ‘Between them and faith.’
