حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُتَوَكِّلِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ ‏:‏ كَانَ أَبُو لُبَابَةَ، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ وَالْقِصَّةُ لأَبِي لُبَابَةَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ ‏:‏ رَوَاهُ يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ بَنِي السَّائِبِ بْنِ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ، وَرَوَاهُ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ مِثْلَهُ

This tradition has also been transmitted by Ibn Ka'b b. Malik through a different chain of narrators. This version has

Abu Lubabah was... [He then mentioned its meaning, and the story pertains to Abu Lubabah]. Abu Dawud said: Yunus narrated it from Ibn Shihab, from some of the children of al-Sa'ib ibn Abi Lubabah, and al-Zubaydi narrated it similarly from al-Zuhri from Husayn ibn al-Sa'ib ibn Abi Lubabah.
