حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ النَّخَعِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ أَبْصَرَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم حِينَقَامَ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى كَانَتَا بِحِيَالِ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَحَاذَى بِإِبْهَامَيْهِ أُذُنَيْهِ ثُمَّ كَبَّرَ ‏.‏

Wa’il b.Hujr said

He saw the Prophet (ﷺ) when he stood up for prayer, raising his hands until they were level with his shoulders, and he aligned his thumbs with his ears, then he pronounced the takbir.
