Abu Humaid, Abu Usaid, Sahl ibn Sa'd, and Muhammad ibn Maslamah gathered and mentioned the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). Abu Humaid said, 'I am the most knowledgeable among you regarding the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).' He mentioned part of it, then said: Then he bowed, placed his hands on his knees as if he were grasping them, spread his hands apart, and kept them away from his sides. Then he prostrated, placing his nose and forehead firmly on the ground, keeping his hands away from his sides, and placing his palms level with his shoulders. Then he raised his head until every bone returned to its proper place, until he finished. Then he sat, spreading his left foot beneath him, directing the front part of his right foot towards the qiblah, placing his right palm on his right knee and his left palm on his left knee, and pointing with his finger.
Abu Dawud said: Utbah ibn Abi Hakim narrated this hadith from Abdullah ibn Isa from al-Abbas ibn Sahl, and he did not mention the sitting posture (tawarruk), and he mentioned something similar to the hadith of Fulaih. Al-Hasan al-Hurr mentioned something similar to the sitting posture in the hadith of Fulaih and Utbah.
