حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ قَالَ سَمُرَةُحَفِظْتُ سَكْتَتَيْنِ فِي الصَّلاَةِ سَكْتَةً إِذَا كَبَّرَ الإِمَامُ حَتَّى يَقْرَأَ وَسَكْتَةً إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ فَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَةٍ عِنْدَ الرُّكُوعِقَالَ فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ فَكَتَبُوا فِي ذَلِكَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ إِلَى أُبَىٍّ فَصَدَّقَ سَمُرَةَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ كَذَا قَالَ حُمَيْدٌ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ وَسَكْتَةً إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ ‏.‏

Narrated Samurah ibn Jundub

I memorized two pauses in prayer: a pause when the imam starts the prayer until he recites, and a pause when he finishes reciting the Opening of the Book and a surah, at the time of bowing. Imran ibn Husayn objected to that. He said: They wrote about that to Ubayy in Medina, and he confirmed Samurah. Abu Dawud said: Humaid likewise said in this tradition: 'and a pause when he finishes the recitation.'
