That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered the mosque, and a man entered and prayed, then came and greeted the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) returned the greeting and said: "Go back and pray, for you have not prayed." So the man went back and prayed as he had prayed before, then came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and greeted him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: "And upon you be peace." Then he said: "Go back and pray, for you have not prayed." Until he did that three times. Then the man said: "By the One Who sent you with the truth, I do not know any better than this, so teach me." He said: "When you stand up for prayer, say the takbir, then recite what is easy for you of the Quran, then bow until you are tranquil in your bowing, then rise until you stand up straight, then prostrate until you are tranquil in your prostration, then sit until you are tranquil in your sitting, then do that throughout your entire prayer."
Abu Dawud said: Al-Qa'nabi said from Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id al-Maqburi, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned at the end: "If you do this, your prayer has been completed, and you have not detracted from this anything; rather, you have detracted it from your prayer." And he mentioned in it: "When you stand up for prayer, perform wudu thoroughly."
