Regarding The Salam Sunan Abi Dawud 998
Translation
Jabir b. Samurah said
When we prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), one of us would say the greeting and point with his hand to his right and to his left. When he finished the prayer, he said: "Why is it that one of you gestures with his hand as if they were the tails of spirited horses? It is sufficient for one of you—or is it not sufficient for one of you—to say like this?" And he pointed with his finger, greeting his brother on his right and on his left.
