Shortening The Taslim Sunan Abi Dawud 1004
Translation
Narrated AbuHurayrah
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Omitting part of the greeting is a Sunnah."
'Isa said: Ibn al-Mubarak forbade me from attributing this hadith directly to the Prophet (marfu').
Abu Dawud said: I heard Abu Umayyah 'Isa ibn Yunus al-Fakhuri al-Rami say: When al-Firyabi returned from Makkah, he stopped attributing this hadith directly to the Prophet (marfu'). He said: Ahmad ibn Hanbal forbade attributing it directly to the Prophet.
