(Prostrating For) Forgetfulness After The Two Prostrations (Rak'ah) Sunan Abi Dawud 1011
Regarding the story of Dhu al-Yadayn, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, performed the takbir and prostrated. Hisham, meaning the son of Hassan, said: He performed the takbir, then performed the takbir and prostrated.
Abu Dawud said: This tradition has also been narrated by Habib ibn al-Shahid, Humaid, Yunus, and Asim al-Ahwal from Muhammad on the authority of Abu Hurairah. None of them mentioned what Hammad ibn Zaid mentioned from Hisham regarding his saying that he performed the takbir, then performed the takbir and prostrated. Hammad ibn Salamah and Abu Bakr ibn Ayyash also narrated this tradition from Hisham, but they did not mention what Hammad ibn Zaid mentioned from him regarding the statement that he performed the takbir, then performed the takbir.
