If One Prays Five Rak'ah — Sunan Abi Dawud 1023

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed one day and gave the salutation when one rak'ah of the prayer remained. A man met him and said, "You forgot one rak'ah of the prayer." So he returned, entered the mosque, and commanded Bilal, who established the prayer. He then led the people in praying one rak'ah. I informed the people about that, and they asked me, "Do you recognize the man?" I said, "No, unless I see him." Then he passed by me, and I said, "This is he." They said, "This is Talhah ibn Ubaydullah."
