When Friday comes, the devils set out with their banners to the markets, throwing dust or rubbish at the people and distracting them from Friday prayer. Meanwhile, the angels set out early and sit at the doors of the mosque, recording the man [who arrives] at an hour and the man [who arrives] at two hours, until the Imam comes out. When a man sits in a seating place where he is able to listen and look, and he remains silent and does not engage in idle talk, he has two portions of reward. If he moves away and sits where he cannot hear, but remains silent and does not engage in idle talk, he has a portion of reward. If he sits in a seating place where he is able to listen and look, but engages in idle talk and does not remain silent, he has a portion of sin. Whoever says to his companion on Friday, "Be quiet!", has engaged in idle talk, and whoever engages in idle talk has nothing for that Friday of his.
Then he says at the end of that: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saying that.
