حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ الْبَجَلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، قَالَصَلَّى بِنَا ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ فِي يَوْمِ عِيدٍ فِي يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ أَوَّلَ النَّهَارِ ثُمَّ رُحْنَا إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ إِلَيْنَا فَصَلَّيْنَا وُحْدَانًا وَكَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ بِالطَّائِفِ فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ ذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ أَصَابَ السُّنَّةَ

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas

Ata ibn Abi Rabah said: Ibn az-Zubayr led us in prayer on the day of an 'Id that coincided with a Friday, early in the morning. Then we set out for the Friday prayer, but he did not come out to us, so we prayed by ourselves. Ibn Abbas was in al-Ta'if at that time. When he arrived, we mentioned that to him, and he said: 'He followed the Sunnah.'
