Sunan Abi Dawud 471
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لاَ يَزَالُ الْعَبْدُ فِي صَلاَةٍ مَا كَانَ فِي مُصَلاَّهُ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلاَةَ تَقُولُ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْهُ حَتَّى يَنْصَرِفَ أَوْ يُحْدِثَ " . فَقِيلَ مَا يُحْدِثُ قَالَ يَفْسُو أَوْ يَضْرِطُ .
Musa ibn Ismaʿil narrated to us: Hammad narrated to us, from Thabit, from Abu Rafiʿ, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘A servant remains in prayer so long as he is in his place of prayer, waiting for the prayer. The angels say: “O Allah, forgive him; O Allah, have mercy on him,” until he leaves or breaks his ritual purity.’ He was asked: ‘What does “breaks his ritual purity” mean?’ He replied: ‘He passes wind, silently or audibly.’
