حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ - قَالَ - سَأَلْنَا جَابِرًا عَنْ وَقْتِ، صَلاَةِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ كَانَيُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ وَالْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ حَيَّةٌ وَالْمَغْرِبَ إِذَا غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَالْعِشَاءَ إِذَا كَثُرَ النَّاسُ عَجَّلَ وَإِذَا قَلُّوا أَخَّرَ وَالصُّبْحَ بِغَلَسٍ .
Translation
Muhammad b. 'Amr b. al-Hasan reported
We asked Jabir about the time of the prayer of the Prophet (ﷺ), and he said: He used to pray Zuhr in the midday heat, and 'Asr when the sun was bright, and Maghrib when the sun had set, and 'Isha' when there were many people he would hasten it, and when there were few he would delay it, and Fajr in the early dawn darkness.
