Sunan Abi Dawud 532
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، وَدَاوُدُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، - الْمَعْنَى - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ بِلاَلاً، أَذَّنَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ يَرْجِعَ فَيُنَادِيَ " أَلاَ إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ قَدْ نَامَ أَلاَ إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ قَدْ نَامَ " . زَادَ مُوسَى فَرَجَعَ فَنَادَى أَلاَ إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ نَامَ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ إِلاَّ حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ .
Musa ibn Ismaʿil and Dawud ibn Shabib narrated to us—the meaning is the same. They said: Hammad narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Nafiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, that Bilal called the prayer before dawn. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to return and announce: ‘Behold, the servant has slept! Behold, the servant has slept!’ Musa added: He returned and announced: ‘Behold, the servant has slept!’ Abu Dawud said: Hammad ibn Salamah alone narrated this hadith from Ayyub.
