Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْحَنَفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لِيُؤَذِّنْ لَكُمْ خِيَارُكُمْ وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمْ قُرَّاؤُكُمْ " .
Translation
ʿUthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us: Husayn ibn ʿIsa al-Hanafi narrated to us: al-Hakam ibn Aban narrated to us, from ʿIkrimah, from Ibn ʿAbbas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Let the best of you call the adhan for you, and let those most versed in the Qur’an lead you in prayer.’
