Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " إِذَا أَبَقَ الْعَبْدُ إِلَى الشِّرْكِ فَقَدْ حَلَّ دَمُهُ " .
Translation
Qutaybah ibn Said narrated to us: Humayd ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Shabi, from Jarir, who said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: “When a slave flees to polytheism, his blood becomes lawful.”
