Translation
Narrated Iyad ibn Himar
Musaddad narrated to us, Khalid, meaning al-Tahhan, narrated to us, - and through another chain - and Musa ibn Ismail narrated to us, Wuhaib narrated to us, - the meaning is the same - from Khalid al-Hadhdha', from Abu al-Ala', from Mutarrif, meaning the son of Abdullah, from Iyad ibn Himar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever finds a lost item, let him have a person of justice - or two persons of justice - witness it, and let him neither conceal it nor hide it. If the owner comes, let him return it to him; otherwise, it is the property of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, which He gives to whom He wills."
