Raising The Hands During Istisqa'
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي خَلَفٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الْفَقِيرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَوَاكِي فَقَالَ "اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا غَيْثًا مُغِيثًا مَرِيئًا مَرِيعاً نَافِعًا غَيْرَ ضَارٍّ عَاجِلاً غَيْرَ آجِلٍ " . قَالَ فَأَطْبَقَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّمَاءُ
Translation
Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah
Bawaki (people in distress or weeping due to drought) came to the Prophet (ﷺ), and he said: "O Allah, send us abundant rain, rescuing, wholesome, productive, beneficial, not harmful, soon, not delayed." He said: Thereupon the sky closed in over them (with clouds).
