Narrated Adi ibn Umayrah al-Kindi
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: O people, whoever among you is employed by us upon a work and conceals from us even a sewing needle or anything above it, it will be a yoke (gulf) which he will bring on the Day of Resurrection. Then a dark-skinned man from the Ansar—as if I am looking at him—stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, take back my assignment from me. He asked: What is the matter with you? He replied: I heard you saying such and such. He said: And I say that now: whoever we employ for a task, let him bring its small and its great; whatever he is given thereof, he may take, and whatever he is forbidden from, let him refrain.
