حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ الْمَعْنَى، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ الأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ الْحَجُّ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ أَوْ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً قَالَ ‏"‏ بَلْمَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَمَنْ زَادَ فَهُوَ تَطَوُّعٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ هُوَ أَبُو سِنَانٍ الدُّؤَلِيُّ كَذَا قَالَ عَبْدُ الْجَلِيلِ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ جَمِيعًا عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَقَالَ عُقَيْلٌ عَنْ سِنَانٍ

Narrated Aqra' ibn Habib

Zuhayr ibn Harb and Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah—the meaning being similar—narrated to us, saying: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Sufyan ibn Husayn, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Sinan, from Ibn Abbas, that al-Aqra ibn Habis asked the Prophet (ﷺ), saying: "O Messenger of Allah, is Hajj every year, or only once?" He replied: "Rather, it is only once, and whoever does more, it is voluntary."

Abu Dawud said: He is Abu Sinan al-Du'ali. Thus reported Abd al-Jalil ibn Humayd and Sulayman ibn Kathir, both from al-Zuhri, and Uqayl narrated: "Sinan."
