حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، سَأَلْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ رُكُوبِ الْهَدْىِ، فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏"‏ارْكَبْهَا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ إِذَا أُلْجِئْتَ إِلَيْهَا حَتَّى تَجِدَ ظَهْرًا ‏"

Abu al-Zubair said

Ahmad bin Hanbal narrated to us: Yahya bin Sa'id narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj: Abu az-Zubayr informed me, saying: I asked Jabir bin 'Abdullah about riding the sacrificial animal (hady), and he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Ride it with kindness when you are compelled to do so, until you find a mount."
