حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الأَحْمَرُ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، وَأَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَابِطٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَصْحَابَهُ كَانُوايَنْحَرُونَ الْبَدَنَةَ مَعْقُولَةَ الْيُسْرَى قَائِمَةً عَلَى مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ قَوَائِمِهَا ‏.‏

`Abd al Rahman bin Thabit said

Uthman bin Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, and Abd al-Rahman bin Sabit informed me, that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and his companions used to slaughter camels with the left leg tied, while it was standing on its remaining legs.
