Sulaiman bin Harb narrated to us, saying: Hammad bin Zaid narrated to us, and through a divergent chain Musa bin Ismail narrated to us, saying: Hammad, meaning Ibn Salamah, narrated to us; and likewise Musa narrated to us, saying: Wuhaib narrated to us, from Hisham bin Urwah, from his father, from 'Aishah, that she said: We set out with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) coinciding with the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah. When we reached Dhu Al-Hulaifah, he said: "Whoever wishes to enter into Ihram for Hajj, let him do so, and whoever wishes to enter into Ihram for 'Umrah, let him do so." Musa stated in the narration of Wuhaib: "Had I not brought a sacrificial animal, I would have entered into Ihram for 'Umrah." And he stated in the narration of Hammad bin Salamah: "As for me, I am entering into Ihram for Hajj because I have the sacrificial animal with me." Then they agreed, and I was among those who entered into Ihram for 'Umrah. When we were on the way, I menstruated. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered upon me while I was crying, and he said: "What makes you weep?" I said: "I wish I had not gone out this year." He said: "Leave your 'Umrah, undo your hair, and comb it." Musa added: "And enter into Ihram for Hajj." And Sulaiman said: "And do what the Muslims do in their Hajj." When it was the night of departure (al-Sadr), he (meaning the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)) ordered 'Abd al-Rahman, and he took her to At-Tan'im. Musa added: So she entered into Ihram for 'Umrah in place of her first 'Umrah, and she performed Tawaf around the House, and Allah fulfilled both her 'Umrah and her Hajj. Hisham said: There was no sacrificial animal involved in any of that. Abu Dawud added: Musa added in the narration of Hammad bin Salamah: When it was the night of Al-Batha', 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) became purified.
Hisham said: No sacrificial animal was offered during all this time.
In the version of Hammad bin Salamah, the narrator Musa added: When the night of al-Batha came, 'Aishah was purified.
