حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، ح حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلاَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، - الْمَعْنَى - عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَقَصَّرْتُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِمِشْقَصٍ عَلَى الْمَرْوَةِ ‏.‏ أَوْ رَأَيْتُهُ يُقَصَّرُ عَنْهُ عَلَى الْمَرْوَةِ بِمِشْقَصٍ ‏.‏ قَالَ ابْنُ خَلاَّدٍ إِنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَخْبَرَهُ

Abd al-Wahhab ibn Najdah narrated to us: Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj. And [via another chain] Abu Bakr ibn Khallad narrated to us: Yahya narrated to us — the meaning being the same — from Ibn Jurayj: Al-Hasan ibn Muslim informed me, from Tawus, from Ibn 'Abbas, that Mu'awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan informed him, saying: I shortened the hair of the Prophet (ﷺ) with a mishqas (broad arrowhead) at Al-Marwah, or [he said]: I saw him having his hair shortened with a mishqas at Al-Marwah. Ibn Khallad said: Mu'awiyah did not say 'informed me'.
