حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَهُمْ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا قَزَعَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ الْمَكِّيِّ، قَالَ سُئِلَ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ، يَرَى الْبَيْتَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَا كُنْتُ أَرَى أَحَدًا يَفْعَلُ هَذَا إِلاَّ الْيَهُودَ وَقَدْ حَجَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَفْعَلُهُ ‏.‏

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah

Jabir ibn Abdullah was asked about a man who, upon seeing the House, raises his hands. He said: "I never used to think anyone would do this except the Jews. We performed Hajj with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and he did not do it."
