Sunan Abi Dawud 1733
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلاَءُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُمَامَةَ التَّيْمِيُّ، قَالَ كُنْتُ رَجُلاً أُكْرِي فِي هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَكَانَ نَاسٌ يَقُولُونَ لِي إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لَكَ حَجٌّ فَلَقِيتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنِّي رَجُلٌ أُكْرِي فِي هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَإِنَّ نَاسًا يَقُولُونَ لِي إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لَكَ حَجٌّ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ أَلَيْسَ تُحْرِمُ وَتُلَبِّي وَتَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ وَتُفِيضُ مِنْ عَرَفَاتٍ وَتَرْمِي الْجِمَارَ قَالَ قُلْتُ بَلَى . قَالَ فَإِنَّ لَكَ حَجًّا جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ مِثْلِ مَا سَأَلْتَنِي عَنْهُ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ { لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ تَبْتَغُوا فَضْلاً مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ } فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ وَقَالَ " لَكَ حَجٌّ " .
Musaddad narrated to us; Abd al-Wahid ibn Ziyad narrated to us; al-Ala ibn al-Musayyib narrated to us; Abu Umamah al-Taymi narrated to us. He said: I used to hire out my services on this pilgrimage route, and people would tell me that my Hajj did not count. I met Ibn Umar and said: Abu Abd al-Rahman, I am a man who hires out his services on this route, and people tell me my Hajj does not count. Ibn Umar asked: Do you enter the state of ihram and recite the talbiyah, circumambulate the House, depart from Arafat, and stone the pillars? I said: Yes. He said: Then your Hajj counts. A man once came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him the same thing you asked me. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent and did not answer him until this verse was revealed: There is no blame upon you for seeking bounty from your Lord (Quran 2:198). Then the Messenger of Allah sent for him, recited the verse to him, and said: Your Hajj counts.
