‘Abd Allah ibn Salih and ‘Abd Allah ibn Yusuf related to us: al-Layth related to us: Yazid ibn al-Had related to me, from ‘Umar ibn ‘Ali ibn Husayn, from the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace. Ibn al-Had said: Shurahbil also related to me, from Jabir, who heard the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: ‘Limit going out after the night has grown still, for Allah has creatures that He sends forth. When you hear dogs barking or donkeys braying, seek refuge with Allah from Satan.’
