وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الإِذْنُ مِنْ أَجْلِ الْبَصَرِ‏.‏

  • The phrase indicates that seeking permission protects household privacy from people looking inside.

  • إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الإِذْنُ مِنْ أَجْلِ الْبَصَرِ

    The Arabic says that permission was instituted because of sight; it does not mention the ear.
