حَدَّثَنَا خَلِيفَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ: إِذَا دَخَلَ الرَّجُلُ بَيْتَهُ، فَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عِنْدَ دُخُولِهِ، وَعِنْدَ طَعَامِهِ، قَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ: لاَ مَبِيتَ لَكُمْ وَلاَ عَشَاءَ، وَإِذَا دَخَلَ فَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ دُخُولِهِ قَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ: أَدْرَكْتُمُ الْمَبِيتَ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ طَعَامِهِ قَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ: أَدْرَكْتُمُ الْمَبِيتَ وَالْعَشَاءَ.

Jabir reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “When a man enters his house and remembers Allah, Mighty and Majestic, upon entering and at his food, Satan says, ‘You have no lodging for the night and no supper.’ If he enters without remembering Allah upon entering, Satan says, ‘You have secured lodging for the night.’ And if he does not remember Allah at his food, Satan says, ‘You have secured lodging for the night and supper.’”
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
وَإِنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ طَعَامِهِ
The witness omits the separate case in which Allah is not remembered at mealtime, and Satan then says they have secured lodging and supper.
