Ayn al-Khwarizmi said: We came to Anas ibn Malik while he was sitting alone in his vestibule. My companion greeted him and asked, “May I enter?” Anas said, “Enter. This is a place where no one needs to ask permission.” He brought us food, and we ate. Then he brought a vessel of sweet nabidh, drank from it, and gave us to drink.

Notes and open questions — unreviewed
  • Nabidh is an infused drink; the report describes it as sweet but does not specify its ingredients.

The Arabic says Anas drank and served it to them; it does not say that they were full.

Should the added “were full” be removed and the serving action restored?
