Yahya ibn Sulayman narrated to us. He said: Ibn Wahb narrated to me. He said: Amr informed us, from Abu Yunus, from Abu Hurayra, who said: ‘Help the worker with his work, for one who works for Allah will not be disappointed’—meaning the servant.

Notes and open questions — unreviewed
  • The final words, ‘meaning the servant,’ are an explanatory gloss present in the Arabic source itself.

  • فَإِنَّ عَامِلَ اللهِ لاَ يَخِيبُ،

The expression ‘one who works for Allah’ is unusual and the Arabic source does not specify the intended nuance beyond its following gloss, ‘the servant.’

Should the phrase be rendered more idiomatically while retaining the source gloss?
