حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: الْمُؤْمِنُ مَرْآةُ أَخِيهِ، وَالْمُؤْمِنُ أَخُو الْمُؤْمِنِ، يَكُفُّ عَلَيْهِ ضَيْعَتَهُ، وَيَحُوطُهُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ.

Ibrahim ibn Hamza narrated to us, saying: Ibn Abi Hazim narrated to us, from Kathir ibn Zayd, from al-Walid ibn Rabah, from Abu Hurayra, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: ‘A believer is the mirror of his brother, and a believer is the brother of another believer: he protects him from loss and looks after him from behind.’

ضَيْعَتَهُ may refer to loss, ruin, or something liable to be neglected; يحوطه من ورائه conveys surrounding or protecting him from behind/when absent.
