Abu Hurayra said: When fresh dates were brought to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), he would say, ‘O Allah, bless our city, our mudd, and our sa‘ with blessing upon blessing.’ Then he would hand one to the youngest child nearest to him.
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
A mudd and a sa‘ are measures of volume. The Arabic says the youngest of the children nearest to him; the translation keeps that detail.
