حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَعْمَُرَ، أَنَّ أَبَا الأَسْوَدِ الدِّيلِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا ذَرٍّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ: لاَ يَرْمِي رَجُلٌ رَجُلاً بِالْفُسُوقِ، وَلاَ يَرْمِيهِ بِالْكُفْرِ، إِلاَّ ارْتَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِ، إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ صَاحِبُهُ كَذَلِكَ.

Abu Ma‘mar narrated to us: ‘Abd al-Warith narrated to us, from al-Husayn, from ‘Abd Allah ibn Burayda, who said: Yahya ibn Ya‘mur narrated to us that Abu al-Aswad al-Dili told him he heard Abu Dharr say: I heard the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) say: No man accuses another man of wickedness or disbelief without it returning upon him, if his companion is not as he claimed.
