حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو التَّيَّاحِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَيُخَالِطُنَا، حَتَّى يَقُولَ لأَخٍ لِي صَغِيرٍ: يَا أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ، مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ؟.

Adam narrated to us, saying: Shu‘ba narrated to us, saying: Abu al-Tayyah said: I heard Anas ibn Malik say: ‘The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to mix with us so freely that he would say to a little brother of mine, “Abu ‘Umayr, what happened to the little nugayr?”’
