‘Abd Allah ibn Salih narrated to us: Musa ibn ‘Ali narrated to me, from his father, from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amr, who said: ‘If you are granted four qualities, whatever worldly things are withheld from you will not harm you: a good disposition, restraint in what you eat, truthful speech, and safeguarding a trust.’

عفاف طعمة is restraint or scrupulousness in what one consumes, including avoiding impermissible food; the English witness’s ‘restraint in food’ is concise.
